Need to know this before we load up to participate in the Cottonwood real street Race this weekend.

テつ*

Question. Removing Lexan scoop but will have the same 5" cowl hood. Carb height is mostly levelテつ*withテつ*テつ*hood. Are we good to go?

I agree if you can cover the hole it will fit the rules. Personaly I could care less but that is the rule.

Chicken Man this is not directed at you or hooker but here is my question.

Hot-Rodders put their carb through the hood regularly. I can't find in the rulesテつ*that this is not legal however I may have overlooked it.テつ*

Some will say "it doesn't look stock appearing".

The car looks more stock appearing with a 5" cowl hood with a nicelyテつ*done cut out with border material thanテつ*it does with a cowl hood halfway up the windshield.テつ*テつ*It would take an 8" hood to clear the carb. テつ*

The way the rules read .. Just remove the forward facing scoop your good to go .. No mention of hole in hood .

But you better check with committee to be sure ..

2. Stock Factory Hood Scoops allowed. Natuarally aspirated cars may have a forward scoop as long as it is incorporated into the cowl type hood. No Snorkle/Pro-Stock style or Lexan Scoops allowed. Cowl hoods may be used but kept to a minimum not to exceed 50% of the height of the windshield.

If you got to cover the hole others may need to reduce the height lol

Of course I am merely a fan so thats just my .02 for what it's worth.

You right. I'm starting to sound like a nos racer. Its a shame that in every class that allows both turbo and nos there is a 200-500 lb weight difference turbo being heavier. Like radial vs the world, promod tube chassi 5"- 800 cubic inche 5 kits 2575 lbs vs bbc covention head twin 94 stock body car 3000 lbs.But for the record new gen 2 Turbos will make 300 hp more than gen 1.
