Default Another methanol question.

I had to park my sbc 377" alcohol dragster due to multiple family health issues.
I simply parked it and didn't flush anything other then running engine out of fuel.
Have I really hurt anything or just some carb rebuild etc? Been sitting about a year and a half.
Thanks in advance.

Your carb may need a rebuild/cleaning out and if you did not back off your rocker arms or rotate the engine every couple of weeks you may need new valve springs. But other than that change the oil & filter and gas filter and you should be ready to go

Last time my car sat up for more than a year we had to completely disassemble and clean the fuel pump, filter, carb, and regulator. The oxidation was bad, real bad.

If fuel was left in it probably wouldn't be that bad. Since you ran it dry and didn't run gas through it everything will be chalked up bad. Been there done that.

I would first look in tank...if u see a lot of white chalk, you need to flush tank ,pump, and lines ,,,since u ran carb dry you're looking for a rebuilt/cleaning for sure..good luck..
