Default Need more power from 1988 F250 with 7.3 IDI non turbo.

I am not going to spend money on a turbo kit. Truck is too old. Just need to know if there is anything simple to do to get a little more power.

I have read either advancing the pump timing a little or turning up the fuel will help. Which is best to do, or can I do both?
