Default Memphis is always nuts!!!

Whenever the NHRA race at Memphis rolls around, I always remember the Larry Dixon crash from the 2000 event.

Watching that tire flying through the spectator parking lot is crazy. Lol, the NHRA will never show the footage of the tire bouncing through the parking lot for obvious reasons.

Here is the link. The Larry Dixon Footage begins at about 3:11 in to the video.

If I go, I'll be unarmed, lol.

The GTO picked up some battle wounds last week.

I haven't decided yet, I still got my hotel reservations though.

I might go just to hang out and cheer you guys on.

I remember those vids. being some of the very first drag racing wrecks I had ever seen. I will have to say I never in a million years thought I would see some of that stuff live, but I did and it was bitter sweet to say the least. First seeing those vids. I thought to myself how can a person put themselves into such a situation as to where something like one of these wrecks would be possible, but after falling in love with the sport and growing a respect for it, you realize just how easy that can be. I guess that is what makes me a fan... I realize that these races put their lives on the line each and everytime they stage one of these cars. I have fought back tears over the smallest of wrecks... it's something that sends a rush of emotions through you that are very hard to put into words, but once again that is the love of the sport and the dedication behind it. I still can not put into words how amazing Memphis was for me. I remember a post a while back Patrick Butler post of an article someone had written about their first NHRA experience... I can not find it at the moment, I've been looking for it all week... but when and if I do I will report it again, because that is the closest I can come to putting it into words, but I will continue to try and explain it. I think all of it is still sinking in. BUT YES MEMPHIS IS NUTTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NHRA are saying wheels were not installed right, they run spacers and they were not lined up right so wheel was not tight and all the force broke wheel studs off.
